The Kisai Rogue Touch watch is the latest TokyoFlash watch. It was previously featured on their blog as a concept last November, and now it’s become reality.

The Rogue Touch display is right out of science-fiction, so telling the time can seem a bit complicated. The outer ring tells time in one time zone, while the inner ring displays a secondary time zone.

You interact with the watch using a touchscreen face to change modes or set the watch, but it automatically locks after 60 seconds, and then you need to swipe your finger across the screen to reactivate it – a smart design choice.

The case has a polished gunmetal finish, and the display, illuminated by bright LEDs is available in four colors. The time-telling LCD is always on, so you don’t have to activate the LEDs to view the time, just to illuminate it in the dark.

Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of Space Invaders-themed stuff. Although some aren’t things I’m very fond of (like the Space Invaders silk tie), there are some that I definitely think are worth getting (like the Space Invaders Alarm Clock and the Space Invaders Multi Tool.)

And another thing I really wouldn’t mind having?

This deck of playing cards from Art Lebedev Studios is made with a distinct Space Invaders theme. Instead of the usual Jokers and Kings and Queens, you get to throw out alien Aces to trump them all. The suite of each card is printed on it as well, below the letters or numbers indicating the card’s identity (I don’t how else to call them, but you know what I mean.)

And when you’re playing solo and just completed a round of solitaire? Conjure up the Winning Solitaire sculpture (at least in your head to congratulate yourself.)

The Elusive Watch Lets You Read the Time off Your Wrist, Literally

I’ve been so lazy lately that I haven’t had the batteries of two of my wristwatches changed yet. So as things stand, they’re still lying on my dresser. I still wear them but they’re more like accessories now, since the batteries are already deader than dead.

So what’s an energy-saving alternative that will look hip, colorful, and futuristic on your wrist? It’s designer David Blanc’s Elusive watch that’s still quite elusive nowadays, considering that it’s not actually being manufactured yet.

Here’s another possible reason why the watch was named like so: the watch’s face is also elusive. That’s because it doesn’t have a face – just a hole where a face is supposed to be. This is where the battery-saving stuff comes in.

Instead of displaying the time on a LED or LCD 24/7 or having two hands running across it at any given moment, you have to insert your finger into the face to have it displayed: one finger for the time, and two for the date. After it’s triggered, the time would be projected onto your skin using a tiny, harmless laser beam. Pretty neat concept, eh?

Wall-mounted Game & Watch Good for a Few Games, Not Very Portable

One reason why handheld video game consoles were (and are) so popular is because they’re extremely portable. Most of them can be folded up or kept in cases and then stowed away in a purse or backpack, ready to be taken out for another round of gaming when the opportunity arises.

But if you happen to have really fat fingers and are a pretty huge person overall, then you might appreciate having a larger of the gaming console. Pictured above is the wall-mounted gaming portable(?), although its case , which looks and plays just one of those old Game & Watch handheld video games.

I mean, if we’ve got giant iPhones (although limited in functionality) and giant bathing ladies, then why not a giant Game & Watch?

The giant Nintendo Game & Watch was made by Tobie Nortje for the reception area of 21tanks. It was built using a computer monitor embedded in the oversize case, while the buttons are connected to an Arduino control board. Signals are sent back and forth from the controls to a PC, allowing users to play games from the classic platform, in this case, powered by PicaPic.

Etsy sellers Stefan, Barak, Doug and Erin – collectively known as Mechanical Oddities – have the perfect dice for fans of steampunk tabletop games. Or steampunk. Or games. Or gambling. The point is they make beautiful six-sided dice with a steampunk design.

Originally modeled and designed on a computer, each die is 3D printed and then meticulously hand painted to create that worn out, aged, steamy, punky, steampunk look. It’s available in iron and bronze finish and uses cogs instead of pips. Because it would be hard to represent numbers with steam. What would 6 steams even look like? That’d just be 6 water molecules.

Guy Flies Through Chinese Mountain with Wingsuit, Lives to Tell the Tale

Look, up in the sky. It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s some guy in a wingsuit flying through a mountain. Stuntman Jeb Corliss has been using his Wingsuit since 2007, but this is one of his craziest stunts. Armed with his Wingsuit, a parachute, and a GoPro hero video camera, he flies through a hole in a Chinese mountain.

Basically, this guy is the closest thing we have to a Superman as he soars through the air. After jumping from a helicopter at 6,000 feet, Corliss casually flies through a narrow hole in Tianmen mountain, in Hunan Province, China.

The whole thing is accomplished perfectly and he lands safely with a parachute. This guy can really fly. Now, if he could just get up there without a helicopter, he could start fighting crime for us.

The stylus ballpoint pen is a clever product, but Griffin does Monteverde one better by incorporating a third device. The Stylus + Pen + Laser Pointer is a stylus, pen and a laser pointer all in one. Imagine that. Seriously though I’d rather have plain names like that than the usual array of letters and numbers in many product models. But I hope Griffin doesn’t expect us to pronounce each “+” in this thing’s name.

In its default state, you’ll find the conductive tip at one end and the laser pointer on the other end near the clip. Simply pop off the stylus half to reveal the refillable pen. Here’s an unboxing of the product by Jordan Klekot:

Toilet Paper Printer, Surprisingly Not Called a Wipe-jet

Mario Lukas apparently likes to read his memos on toilet paper, since he created this printer that uses toilet paper rolls instead of traditional A4 sheets. Lukas created this TP printer as an entry in a hardware hacking contest called “Mach flott den Schrott” that was being held by German technology magazine c’t.

It’s made with old printer parts and Lukas even gave it an Ethernet port so that he can control what he prints. He designed it mostly to print Tweets and Facebook posts(the content of which is usually suited to just this type of paper) but it can also print RSS feeds. Need to add more paper? Just head down to the local store and buy an 8 pack of TP. Put half away for yourself and half away for the printer, then open the side of the printer and put it in.

USB Shot Glass is a Drinking Game in a Cup

Here’s a new twist on an old drinking game. This shot glass is powered by a 1 GB USB drive that goes into the bottom of the shot glass. The USB drive contains the Power Hour Album, which features 60 one minute drinking songs from drinking game guy Ali Spagnola. That equals an hour. Get it?

The idea is that you drink a shot of beer every time the song changes. That should get you good and pissed in no time. You get songs like “I’m Fine Occifer” and “You Won’t Remember This Song.” The shot glass also has a lanyard, which will come in handy as you are staggering about and puking. Once you wipe off your face and fall on your butt, you’ll notice that the shot glass is still attached to you, and then you can drink some more.

Samsung Omnia W offers Windows Phone Mango experience

Stylus + Pen + Laser Pointer from Griffin Technology

There is nothing that I like more than a laser pointer, and Griffin Technology has a good one with the Stylus + Pen + Laser Pointer.

As the name implies, this laser pointer has a pen and a stylus on it. There really isn’t anything too special about the pen, but the pen portion can flip around for a rubber-tipped touchscreen stylus.

The stylus is good for when you want more specific touches on your touchscreen. Since a lot of gaming applications require precise touches in order to win, this stylus could come in handy on tablet games.

As for the laser pointer, it’s pretty obvious what to use this for: teasing cats. Actually, the company says this is good for presentations, but I’ve noticed that when I am viewing presentation, I am often distracted by a laser pointer like a cat.

I got a chance to try out the Griffin Technology Stylus + Pen + Laser Pointer for myself, and I liked it and found it to be quite useful. My only worry is that I might absently leave it behind like a BIC pen. Until someone makes pens, styluses, and lasers that are built into your finger like Inspector Gadget, I will have to be more careful with this $50 investment.

I think that we all want to watch TV from our computers, and Elgato’s HDHomeRun is granting consumers their wish.

The HDHomeRun is a tiny box that connects to one’s cable or antenna, and then connects to one’s router. With the Windows 7 and Mac software, a user can stream digital television, and record TV shows, at the same time in full HD.

It is too bad that the HDHomeRun is not compatible with older versions of Windows. It looks like it was made more for the Mac, as it comes with EyeTV for Mac. EyeTV allows the user access to SmartGuides to record shows, even entire seasons. It also allows for editing and sharing them with other Macs, provided they are on your network.

With the purchase of the Elgato comes one free year of TV Guide data, with the option of renewing it for only $19.95 per year. The better news is that the HDHomeRun has an iPhone and iPad App, which allows you to watch live or recorded TV anywhere.

By now, I am certain that you are all aware of the iPad 2, and how the user can purchase the flexible, fold-able Smart Cover to protect the front. However, what about the back of the precious iPad 2?

Life with the Eco Pod, Rugged All Terrain Speaker Case

We have reported on the Eco Pod before, and I got a chance to try out the Rugged All Terrain Speaker Case for myself.

For those who aren’t familiar with this product, I’m not certain whether “Rugged All Terrain” is an adequate adjective for it. I mean, you can use your mobile device in any terrain where you can get a signal, really. The Eco Pod is designed for those who want to take their iPod, iPhone, or other smartphone in the rugged outdoor conditions of the real world.

It is IPX7 certified to stay within 3 feet of water for 30 minutes without any leaks. The Eco Pod includes some IPX7 ear buds so you can listen to your music in watery conditions.

The Eco Pod is a polycarbonate case with two reinforced clamps. It has a two inch detachable carbiner clip for travel, as well as a slot to keep it in your belt if you like.

Now here is the bad news. When your smartphone or iPod or whatever device is in the unit, you cannot access the touchscreen. In other words, once you hook it up in the case with the 3.5 mm jack, close the cover, you had better have it set to a big playlist or a radio if you want to hear some music.

To tell how much power you have left in the bag, you just press the button next to the power meter. It’s a little hard to see in this daylight photo but there are 4 little white lights that are lit up to indicate that the bag is fully charged.

The battery included is a removable 3000mAh battery which includes Apple, Micro-USB and Mini-USB connectors and a USB port to charge anything else you can think of. The manufacturer says it will charge most mobile devices two times fully which seems pretty close to accurate based on our unscientific testing (and most likely you can charge it more than twice because realistically you’re not going to let your phone run down to 0% before charging). A water resistant AC port on the outside of the bag makes it easy to juice up the bag.

The verdict: an excellent laptop bag suitable for everyday use or travel. It looks good, has lots of pockets, good padding and protection, comfortable and the best part is the integrated charger. Being sick sucks. I’ve been trying to get rid of this fever for almost a week now, so I was quite intrigued by Patrick Hyland’s concept cellphone. He calls it the Nokia E-Cu.

While its name makes no sense – E stands for environment, and Cu, as you are no doubt aware, is the chemical symbol for copper – its main feature is very practical. Its copper case is designed to absorb heat from the environment. An integrated thermo-generator will then convert the heat into electrical energy that will be used to power the phone.

Hyland chose to make the back of the case look like dried earth, which looks nice I guess. What I’d like to know is if this is the optimum shape and form for the case, i.e. will this form maximize its heat-absorbing property? I honestly am not sure, because I’m no physicist. I’m just a guy with a fever, looking at something that could make his damn sickness useful.

Psst! You! Evil-doer! Take a good look at this thing. Memorize its nondescript rockiness. Because the next time you’re doing some bad deed in someone’s garden, spreading evil in some rocky area, or stealing pet rocks, this stealthy fella could be nearby, watching you. Because nobody watches like this rock watches. You rock, rock. The rock just sits and is. This rock, which is not actually even a real rock, is weather-resistant, and will start recording whenever it detects motion. Otherwise it remains in sleep mode, enabling it to save battery. In fact, it can standby for up to a year on a single charge, or take videos continuously for up to 20 hours.

To maintain its stealthiness, manufacturer KJB Security didn’t even point out where the pinhole is on this thing. It also should have a USB port somewhere, to transfer videos to a computer. I think they lost the real artificial rock and just placed a picture of an actual rock. Which shows you how good the artificial rock is at blending in. Anyway, the Xtremelife rock comes with a remote control, RCA video cables, and a 2GB SD card, but the camera itself supports up to 32GB. To give you an idea of how much memory you might need, it will take 1GB to store a 40 minute video at 720×480 resolution.

You can order the Xtremelife artificial rock camera at Smarthome for 9 (USD). If you’re getting this, may I suggest that you take a picture of the rock or that you mark it in some small way to distinguish it. Ezio Auditore could take lessons about blending in from this thing.

Geeks really pull out all the stops when it comes to holidays. We saw some epic Halloween stuff back in October and now that Christmas is right around the corner we are seeing some really cool holiday stuff made from LEGO bricks. One of my favorites was the LEGO Christmas tree that surfaced a while back.

You can now build your own LEGO Santa sleigh to complement that tree. The kit can be purchased directly from through LEGO Digital Designer for about with all the parts you need to build your own, or you can save some dough in the LEGO pick-a-brick shop. If you have hoards of bricks sitting around already you can build it yourself with schematics here.

You need that LEGO Digital Designer 4.0 software to get the plans. There are several different kits you can choose from. I particularly like the rocket powered sled. I suspect Santa is a purist and would use reindeer, but rocket power would be how I would go.

panasonic updates lumix g2 camera to support 3d lens

If you have one of those cool Panasonic Lumix G2 micro four-thirds digital cameras with interchangeable lenses, a new firmware has landed. The upgrade adds a really cool new feature to the camera if you buy the sweet Panasonic H-FT012 3D lens that surfaced a few months back.

That cool lens is very thin and has dual optics inside that allow compatible cameras to shoot 3D images. The firmware update for the G2 allows the camera to work with the lens for taking images in 3D and playing them back.

You do need a 3D compatible TV to be able to shoot the 3D images out in a viewable format. The new firmware you need to grab is version 1.1 and it can be downloaded right now. That 3D lens is a bit over 0, which is surprisingly cheap considering how much lenses can cost.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of jamming cell phones as much as the next guy, but isn’t it illegal to do so? Still, when there comes a time when you need to block the texts of a 12-year old girl, then I’m all for cell phone jamming. But Wi-Fi jamming? Shouldn’t information be free?

One thing’s for sure, the device is pretty small and can easily fit in a pocket. Once it’s activated, Wi-Fi goes kaboom! There are no antennas or wires involved – just mayhem.

The Portable Wi-Fi Signal Jammer is available through the Chinavasion online store and it costs about USD for 1-5 units, in case you want some for your friends too. All I can think of is that you might want to block Wi-Fi for security reasons, but still it seems like a bad idea.

I really like my iPad, and the thing is pretty lightweight already with its aluminum chassis and coverings. Future iPads may get even more lightweight thanks to a patent app that has surfaced showing Apple is looking to carbon fiber.

Lots of ultraportable notebooks on the market have carbon fiber in their construction, so this isn’t that far out in the least. The patent outlines a new outer shell for the tablet that uses “layered fiber in matrix type material.”

I think it would be epic if Apple took the iPad, made it in carbon fiber, and then left the fiber exposed for all to see. I would hope they use the cool looking carbon fiber, not the flat and ugly looking dry carbon fiber. Matt Thomas created this awesome DIY flight simulation rig that is called a Moving Axis AirCraft Simulator, which will tilt and shift just like a regular flight simulator. The only difference is that it was built with only common materials you can find at a hardware store, has no pneumatics, no electric motors, and no hydraulics – and was made by some guy in Kansas.

Matt works for Rodger Dodger Aviation and he’s fully documented the process involved. He’s got a series of tutorials available for anyone wanting to replicate this.

He used rapid prototyping to get this done quickly. This means that he quickly whipped up a prototype, and kept adjusting it until it did everything that was needed. Matt says that there was a lot of trial and error, but ultimately, he’s satisfied with the result.

Car cupholders are designed for round beverage containers. But what do you do if you want to drink milk or a juicebox that comes in a rectangular container? You can either awkwardly try to cram it in there and then try not to take any turns too sharply or you could use the MilkMate. It solves the ol’ square peg, round hole conundrum. Made in Canada (FYI Craziest Gadgets is a huge fan of Canada, particularly Montreal and Nova Scotia), these plastic drink holders run just .99- and I’m pretty sure that’s in Canadian dollars too.

Works for stroller cup holders too. You could even bring one to your movie theater seat’s cup holder and drink milk instead of oversized soft drinks (yeah right). And since they’re from Canada, I will assume that they also fit nicely in your Zamboni or snowmobile’s cupholders too.

This has to be one of the wildest, yet most sensible motorcycle and bicycle safety devices ever. The Hövding is basically a wearable airbag for your head. It goes around your neck like a slightly oversized scarf. Inside the collar are sensors that tell the device when to inflate, which it does with helium. The sensor has a series of gyroscopes and accelerometers and has been configured to only fire when you have an accident and not while doing standard bicycle moves like bending down or dismounting. The Hövding was designed by a pair of Swedish University students for their thesis, so perhaps one day it will actually make it into production.

It’s official! I’m getting rid of my dining room table and chairs and putting either a Mustang Pool Table (warning: autoplaying video!) or the cooler and pricier Shelby Pool Table in it’s place. Don’t worry about where I’m going to eat, I won’t be able to afford to eat anyway. But thanks for asking.

Each table is a faithful replica of either a 1965 Ford Mustang or a 1965 Shelby GT 350, both officially licensed by Ford. The billiards tables have 4 by 8 foot slate top. The fiberglass bodied cars are shortened lengthwise but are true to size in the front and rear. The lights actually work and there’s chrome decals, bumpers, and real alloy rims and tires.

The Mustang runs nearly ,000 and it’s an ,000 (and up) for the Shelby model. The Shelby models are signed by the legendary 88 year old Carroll Shelby himself (I was surprised he’s still around too!). 3D Super Mario Papercraft Magnet Board

Laboratory 424 has done it again with an awesome homemade 3D Super Mario Papercraft Magnet Board. Step by step instructions are included so you, yes YOU, can build this at home too for minimal cost. They used a site called Cubeecraft to get the templates to print out all the paper characters and shapes.

Although the designs allow you to simply fold them in place, putting the magnets inside and handling them more changed the plan to use glue instead. A magnet was glued inside each figure (don’t ask me how magnets work, I don’t freakin’ know, they just do). The background was created from a giant magnet board with blue posterboard glued on top and a few clouds pasted on for effect.

Put your papercraft Super Mario figures on the board and arrange them and play with them to your liking. Be as rough as you want because they’re easily replaceable, just print out new ones. Enjoy!

I really liked the flick Avatar. I ended up seeing it twice, which is very rare for me. It was a cool film and I am really looking forward to the next inevitable installment. One geeky chick, Laura Hadland, has taken about 4,000 Blu-ray discs and used them to create a gigantic mosaic of a Na’Vi from the film.

She created the mosaic as a gift to her hubby, who is obviously an Avatar geek as well. She put the display together on the floor of the London Film Museum, and it reportedly took the woman only a few hours to complete. She obviously has more artistic talent in her finger than I have in my entire body.

What I really want to know is where she came up with 4,000 Blu-ray discs. I would think that many discs, even if they were blank would have cost a lot of money. I’d also like to know how she got some of the discs into different colors than the other. I would assume they are painted or printed, but I might be off.

I’ve seen some crazy ass PC casemods over the years, but this one is definitely one of the nuttier ones I’ve seen in a while. What we have here is a PC with a case made of concrete.

Modder D. Heiße (who was last sighted with a PC in a tree trunk) decided to make the Concretronic for a recent modding contest.

Yes, the case for the PC is made from a single, seamless layer of concrete, wrapped around a curvy metal structure made from welding rods and steel sheets, with embedded plexiglas windows so you can see inside. The substructure of the Concretronic was made from hand-cut aluminum sheets, powder-coated white.

He even managed to come up with cast-concrete power and hard-drive indicators on the front of the case. I also really love the custom HDD and SDD covers on the drives. What a nice design touch.

DNA 11 has decided to offer a service where they will take a sample of your DNA, and send you a large piece of “augmented artwork” to hang on your wall. Anyone can then scan the image with their smartphone, and be taken to a page that displays your genetic lineage.

I have to admit, it is an interesting concept. If you’re someone that is really interested in your ancestry, then having a picture on your wall that essentially traces your genetics back over thousands of years would be pretty cool. Tokyo man builds a home in a space designed for parking

Some of you might remember when we reported on the Hong Kong man that built a Domestic Transformer that could turn a 344-foot space into a 24-room house.

This man, Fuyuhito Moriya, has applied principles of some space-saving technology to his small house in Tokyo. This is a 30 square meter plot of land that was originally designed to be a parking space, but is now a three story house for two.

As you might have guessed, things are pretty crammed with appliances under counters and many other compact enhancements designed to decrease space as much as possible. It reminds me of Bruce Willis’ apartment in The Fifth Element.

Since he was unable to expand horizontally, there was nowhere to go but up. He designed a special circular stairwell based on a triangle and not a circle, which allowed for a tighter diameter. In order to increase the feeling of space, the architect installed big windows to let in more light, so it wouldn’t feel like living in a tuna can.

The overall cost for this parking lot home was about 0,000. Considering the price of property in the big city, not to mention overcrowding, this could be the way of the future, a very cramped future.

Spy Gear has put out a lot of interesting toys for aspiring Spy Kids for a long time.

One of their most recent additions is the Security Scanner, which is essentially one of those metal detecting wands that a security guard might use put in a toy form.

Oddly enough, it actually works. I found that there was this dial for “sensitivity”. If it was turned up all the way, it would go off all the time. If it was turned midway and pressed up against the pocket, it detected any metal with a beep and a green light.

Apparently, kids are supposed to use this to Scan every agent from head to toe. After all, you never know who is hiding metal objects. Man, this is real Patriot stuff being peddled here.

I’m not saying that this toy is encouraging propaganda, as it is probably necessary to have security wands like those used by the TSA. As you see in the title, this toy could be made for those aspiring TSA employees. The TSA could use a few good men (and women) after all of these stories of unnecessary pat-downs.
